El colectivo canadiense de 8 integrantes, Busty and the Bass, comparte su nuevo sencillo "Kids", el cual muestra su faceta indie-soul con una melodía con encanto nostálgico protagonizada por el piano....
After a conceptual wake of darkness and powerful references of 80’s pop noir cinema that has accompanied the band’s most recent discography, Rey Pila dismantles Lucky No.7, a 5-songs EP that comes from an intensive styled session at the iconic Texan studio, Sonic Ranch.
Transition is perhaps the key word here. Transition for the transcendence of Mexico City’s 4-piece formed by Diego Solórzano, Rodrigo Blanco, Miguel Hernández and Andrés Velasco. The material, built through multiple visits to the studio, was born from the initial conception of the next long play planned for 2020; In the catalog formed in the recording rooms and in the final selection of a large number of tracks, this 5 songs have excelled in being the bridge to an upcoming great release.
Lucky No.7 is a short incendiary full of a long-edged synthpop, deep and neuralgic synthesizer injections, great touch analog processes, as well as giant high-hit chorus. Just over fifteen robust minutes are the current commitment of former DF’s natives.
The curtain opens with a blow of industrial electronics that pierces the auditory cortex in “Disciples IV“. In “Flames” the caution of a penetrating bass is the path to fire. “Anxious” is the anthem for a tired generation. “Come Over” is a ballad influenced by motown for those moments when night jealousy attacks. The closure, homonymous to the material, is the glam moment of the night.
This new EP is the lucky number. The digit that is not subject to chance. The most ambitious extended play of the band to date, and a powerful synthpop creation with sparkles that regenerate the dancefloor and the band’s personality.
Here’s a mini documentary where the band talks about the process behind Lucky No.7, they also detail each of the tracks on it. In the video we can see Rey Pila in everyday activities in Mexico City, such as rehearsals, walks and taquerías.
