Moby es un compositor de música electrónica, nacido el 11 de Septiembre de 1965 en Harlem, New York. Su nombre real es Richard Melville Hall y el seudónimo viene de un apodo familiar, que viene de la novela Moby Dick de Herman Melville, su tatara-tatara tío abuelo.

Su más reciente producción es Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt, su décimoquinto álbum que explora la individualidad, la vulnerabilidad, la fe y el quebrantamiento de la humanidad.

Moby re-grabó canciones de Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt en los estudios EastWest de Los Angeles, mítico estudio donde se grabaron discos como Pet Sounds de The Beach Boys, California Dreamin de The Mamas and The Papas y varios hits de Frank Sinatra. Además, lanzó un álbum de remixes.
